DPS have conducted a number of Ignition hazard assessments for non-electrical equipment on both LPG plants as well as Natural Gas sites.

The process, which complies with BS EN 80079 (-36 & -37) standard, assesses the mechanical items that could cause ignition of a site. Generally these are valves, slamshuts, motors, pumps etc, basically anything that could cause a release of kinetic energy, friction of static discharge.

It consists of a initial desk based assessment (DBA) of the equipment, an on-site assessment of any items that can’t be eliminated by the DBA with a closeout report including an exclusion register.
