Gas Compressor Decommissioning (HAZDEM Programme)

As part of a site rationalisation and emissions reduction programme, several gas-driven compressors on the National Transmission System were decommissioned.

DPS HAZDEM scope included:

• Positive isolation of suction, discharge, fuel, electrical, and instrumentation systems
• Safety planning prior to demolition activities
• Delivery of HAZDEM studies to assess demolition-specific hazards

HAZDEM studies were completed at the following compressor stations:

• Peterborough
• Huntingdon
• St Fergus
• Bathgate
• Kirriemuir
